The American Red Cross, premier provider of lifesaving courses, has authorized Elite Amenities, Inc. as a provider of such courses featuring Lifeguarding, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, layperson CPR, First Aid, AED and Babysitting classes. Your completion of this Lifeguarding course will provide you with an emailed certification good for 2 years from date of completion. Prerequisites 1. Must be 15 years old on or before the final scheduled session of this course. 2. Swim 300 yards continuously demonstrating breath control and rhythmic breathing. Candidates may swim using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both but swimming on the back or side is not allowed. Swim goggles may be used. 3. Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds. a. Starting in the water, swim 20 yards. The face may be in or out of the water. Swim goggles are not allowed. b. Surface dive, feet-first or head-first, to a depth of 7 to 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object. c. Return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point with both hands holding the object and keeping the face at or near the surface so they are able to get a breath. Candidates should not swim the distance under water. Exit the water without using a ladder or steps. 4. Tread water
NEW Participants must attend ALL classes in order to pass the certification successfully. Recerts also available.
The class is $185 and participants will receive a 2-year, ARC Lifeguard certification as well as CPR/FA/AED 2-year cert.
Lifeguards who have already taken the full course who have a CURRENT* certification are eligible to take the recert class. Recerts will be done during the April and May classes, dates for testing TBA. If your certification has expired, you must take the full course again. Students must pass the swim test and written test.
*If your certification has expired within the last 30 days, you may take the recert class.
